This is my very first ever BOOK review, I'm not an eloquent writer and I wont ever pretend to be. But I have such a love for this series that I felt I just HAD to write out my feelings on this new book. Thank you so much for reading!

To say I'm a huge Harry Potter fan would be a bit of an understatement. I grew up smack in the middle of the Harry Potter hype- The first movie came out when I was in middle school and I can remember going to opening night dressed up as Hermione. We went to book launch parties at local book stores. I read and re read each book to the point of knowing whole chapters word for word. I am in Ravenclaw at Hogwarts on Pottermore and was sorted into Horned Serpent at the Ilvermorny school. So yes, Im a HUGE fan!
I knew getting into this new book that it was written as a play and not a novel so I was not surprised by that. The plot and story line are wonderful, the meat of it is something that totally held my attention and kept me flipping the pages. I felt like there was a new problem that needed solved along with new characters who had their own problems but there was closure for some older characters and older issues from the other books. It was a new story but still had enough of the old stories to keep me satisfied.
I do miss the DETAIL that comes with writing a novel. The descriptions of things, the way the author transports you to that place and surrounds you with the sights, smells, sounds. That was missing in this book. Which is understandable because all of that would be present on stage and since it was written as a stage play, they didn't feel the need to include that bit.
It was a very easy and quick read compared to the other 7, again because of the lack of details- there were minimal scene descriptions and just dialog which made for a quick but good read.
All in all I thought it was a wonderfully NEW take on the world of Harry Potter and a great story line to follow. My hopes are that it will be written again as a novel, after the play has run its course and perhaps be made into a film as well. I know that right now the talk is that it wont be but as we all know, authors change their minds quite often. We might not see it for some time but I have a good feeling that she will write this as a full novel. Or perhaps take it right to the silver screen after the play has run for a while.
I know that we are getting ready to dive into the world of Newt Scamander, Ilvermorny and the Fantastic Beasts of the wizarding world which I am VERY excited about. When the movie is released in November, which I hear is a 3 part film, there will also be a screen play book released like this one was which I hope will be just as good. I'm excited to see where this new adventure in the world of Harry Potter takes us!
